CG Man Arrested

A Cape Girardeau man, Dominic Johnson, 38, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman and firing a weapon in an apartment. Police found a revolver and methamphetamine during the investigation.

An update on the weekend blaze in historic East Prarie. A news release says three buildings were destroyed and the investigation continues into what caused the fire. No one was hurt.

MO Cell-Phone Law

Enforcement has officially begun for the Siddens-Bening Hands-Free Law, which prohibits people from holding their phones while driving. The law went into effect in the summer of 2023, with an educational awareness campaign.As of Jan. 1, law enforcement officers can now issue tickets to drivers on their phones.
