CG Man Appointed By Governor

Governor Kehoe has appointed Joseph “Bryon” Palmer, of Cape Girardeau to the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission. Palmer is an active member of several organizations, including the Appraisal Institute and the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Palmer earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Psychology from Southeast Missouri State University.

CG Non-Injury Fire

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department handled a first alarm fire Saturday night at 120 Camellia Drive. Crews were met by the owners, who confirmed that no one was in the home. The fire that apparently began on the stove was brought under control quickly and no one was hurt.

The state has submitted a waiver request to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services to change the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. That’s according to a news release from Governor Mike Kehoe’s office.
