Friday night’s storm caused extensive damage to the campus of Perry County School District 32, with all buildings sustaining damage of varying degrees. Justin Turner, 44 of Sikeston, is charged for the assault that occurred recently on Park Street. The Scott County Prosecutor charged Turner with Felony Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Trespassing First Degree. Turner was issued a no bond warrant and remains in custody.

The Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) has awarded a five-year initial accreditation to the educator preparation programs at Southeast Missouri State University.After reviewing the evidence collected through a process of self-study and peer review, the AAQEP Accreditation Commission issued the decision at its February meeting.
