After 8 years of dedicated service as the Fire Chief of Cape Girardeau and 47 years in the fire service, Fire Chief Ray Warner will officially retire on May 1. A Cape Girardeau man 29 year old Elijah Burleson was arrested Tuesday after police responded to reports of gunfire in Cape Girardeau.Burleson faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at or from a motor vehicle at a person, vehicle or building and a parole violation.

Cairo Man Sentenced

A Cairo, Illinois 23 year old Darryl Duane Jackson man will spend the next seven years in prison for selling meth. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Stephen N. The Scott City police department put yellow ribbons on the patrol vehicles for April 14-19. According to the Scott City Police Department, the yellow ribbons recognize Missing Persons Week. They chose to put them on their patrol vehicles for Cheryl Anne Scherer, who went missing from the community 46 years ago.

A southeast Missouri woman 25 year old Breanna McClinton is accused of taking thousands of dollars from a woman with dementia.McClinton is charged with financial exploitation of an elderly disabled person and trespassing. CG Probation Violation

Eddie Lee, 36, was booked by the Cape Girardeau Police Department Monday for a warrant related to an active probation violation. According to the Cape Girardeau County jail roster, Lee faces charges of possession of a controlled substance. Lee is being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
