Route BB in Scott County will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, as construction crews replace a culvert under the roadway. This section of road is between Route Y and Highway 114 near Sikeston, a Missouri Department of Transportation news release said.

CG Police Arrest Charleston Man

The Cape Girardeau Police Department arrested 39 year old Lionel Greer of Charleston Saturday for allegedly threatening a person with a firearm and restraining people. Greer is being held in the Cape Girardeau County jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

Poplar Bluff Stabbing Case

Prosecutors say they will appeal a decision by a judge that would make a Poplar Bluff man Joseph Cannon eligible for many more years behind bars in the deadly stabbing of Jared Tipler in Scott County. Cannon was sentenced to 14 years iin prison Wednesday.
