The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $50,000 Clean Water Engineering Report Grant to the city of Oran to evaluate its wastewater system.Through its Clean Water Engineering Report Grant program, the department offers funding to qualified small communities to help with evaluating public wastewater system improvements.

City leaders in Cape Girardeau have responded after a firefighters union filed votes of no confidence against two city leaders.According to a news release from Cape Girardeau Firefighters IAFF Local 1084 sent on Tuesday they filed the votes against city manager Kenneth Haskins and human resources director Gina Snyder.
