A Cape Girardeau man 29 year old Elijah Burleson was arrested Tuesday after police responded to reports of gunfire in Cape Girardeau.Burleson faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at or from a motor vehicle at a person, vehicle or building and a parole violation.

Cairo Man Sentenced

A Cairo, Illinois 23 year old Darryl Duane Jackson man will spend the next seven years in prison for selling meth. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Eddie Lee, 36, was booked by the Cape Girardeau Police Department Monday for a warrant related to an active probation violation. According to the Cape Girardeau County jail roster, Lee faces charges of possession of a controlled substance. Lee is being held in lieu of a $75,000 bond.

The flood warning along the Mississippi River has shifted southward. It’s now in effect from near Price Landing in southern Scott County down to the Arkansas border.
