MO Schools Report Card

Missouri’s latest school report card shows encouraging progress. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education says public schools made positive strides in 2025, with more than 91 percent meeting or exceeding state standards.

CG 2026 Budget

The Cape Girardeau County Commission approved its annual budget Thursday agreeing to nearly $12 million in regular operating costs; about $21 million for the sheriff’s office; about $4.3 million for the road and bridge department; and about $1.3 million for assessments.

New Year’s Traffic Stats

The stats are in from Missouri State Highway Patrol for the New Year’s Holiday driving period. The counting period began at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 31 and lasted through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 4.
