The Cape Girardeau Police Department has welcomed another new K-9 officer. 2-year-old Gaston is a German Shepherd from Holland who will work with his partner Officer. According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, Gaston is trained in detecting narcotics, tracking and suspect apprehension.

46 year old Johnny Lee Phillips, Jr. was convicted of three felonies in connection with a 2017 shooting in the Bootheel.
