CG Weapon Arrest

Cape Girardeau Police responded Wednesday to the 1400-Block of N. Missouri Ave. for a report of a weapon violation. When officers arrived they found Darrell Houston III (26) of Cape Girardeau pointed a firearm at the victim. Houston had fled the area in a vehicle before officers arrived. Houston was caught and arrested.

A bill passed by Missouri lawmakers would make many changes to utilities in the state. The bill is on the governor’s desk right now. Gov. Mike Kehoe didn’t indicate whether or not he would sign it, but sounded supportive. He has until March 28 to act.

School Storm Debris

Friday night’s storm caused extensive damage to the campus of Perry County School District 32, with all buildings sustaining damage of varying degrees. Sikeston Man Assault Charge

Justin Turner, 44 of Sikeston, is charged for the assault that occurred recently on Park Street. The Scott County Prosecutor charged Turner with Felony Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Trespassing First Degree. Turner was issued a no bond warrant and remains in custody.
