MO Task Force Substance Abuse

The Missouri legislature’s Task Force on Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment was held at the State Capitol Thursday to hear from multiple agencies on similar efforts to trim the dangerous public health problem and the numbers are astonishing. The panel learned during an earlier meeting that the issue is costing the state an estimated $8.5B annually when adding in job losses, money funneling into elicit drug markets, and an increased public health price tag.
