MO Schools For Disabled Closing

According to the Southeast Missourian Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) has announced that a dozen of its schools will close by June 2026.Included in the proposed closures is Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter. The plan is part of a decadelong plan to improve services at MSSD.MSSD operates 34 schools across the state, with 11 of those in the 8th District, which covers Southeast Missouri. A 1957 state law created MSSD, which serves students with severe disabilities from the ages of 5 to 21.
