On Friday mid-morning., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the 2000 – Block of Bloomfield Rd. for an injury crash involving a single vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that a blue 2020 GMC Acadia had been traveling east on Bloomfield Rd. when the vehicle left the roadway on the north side, striking a mailbox and then striking a large tree in front of a residence in the 2000-Block of Bloomfield Rd. The driver from Cape Girardeau 35 year old Ashley Braxton died.
