The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment building at 2822 Whitener. Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a second-floor apartment and all the residents were already out of the building.The fire was quickly brought under control and confined to the apartment where it started within approximately five minutes of the fire department’s arrival.
