A small earthquake was recorded near Bootheel early Sunday morning. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.7 earthquake was detected at 12:49 a.m., approximately 4.4 miles southeast of Ridgely, Tennessee, which is just south of the Obion-Dyer County line and across the Mississippi River from Caruthersville.The depth of the quake was measured at 3.1 miles.
