Saint Francis Healthcare System marked 150 years of service to southeast Missouri with a celebration on its main campus in Cape Girardeau over the weekend.Saint Francis Hospital was started in 1875 by three Catholic sisters from St. Louis. During its humble beginning the original hospital operated out of a small home in Cape with just 12 beds.Today, Saint Francis Hospital employs more than 3,100 people while providing care to more than 23 counties in the region.
