Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Welker has been awarded one of the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys’ (MAPA) 2025 Prosecutor of the Year awards.Welker and Cole County Prosecuting Attorney Locke Thompson will be honored for their prosecutorial skills and their work on MAPA’s legislative committee, which they co-chair. The two prosecuting attorneys will receive their awards from Wednesday, Sept. 17, through Friday, Sept. 19, at the Annual Meeting of The Missouri Bar and Judicial Conference at the Hilton Branson Convention Center in Branson according to the Southeast Missourian.
