Landmark Hospital officials have announced that the Cape Girardeau facility will close in the next few weeks.Landmark Hospitals specialize in long-term acute care for medically complex patients.Current patients will be discharged or transferred. Each decision will be based on individual patient needs.Hospital officials blamed “insufficient qualifying patient volumes in the U.S. healthcare environment” for the closure. The hospital filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.A spokesperson says continuity and quality of care will be maintained during the closing process.
