The Missouri Department of Transportation reports roadway deaths are trending down for the third consecutive year.They say preliminary data shows that from January 1 through August 24, 2025, 577 people were killed in Missouri traffic crashes.That’s down from 589 during the same period in 2024. Also, in 2024, according to MoDOT, 344 people died in a Missouri crash after September 1, through December 31. Statistically, there were 364 such deaths for the same timeframe in 2023.
