A Scott County judge sentenced a Charleston man 20 year old Courtez McGee to 25 years in prison for his role in a 2022 murder in Sikeston.According to Scott County Prosecuting Attorney Don Cobb, McGee was a juvenile at the time, but certified and charged as an adult.Cobb called the crime a gang-related shooting that simply hit an innocent bystander….and said older gang members often use younger ones to pull the trigger to try and avoid the adult criminal system.
