The Cape Girardeau City Council will consider a resolution today at City Hall affirming the city’s commitment to public safety and reducing violent crime as a part of applying for the Missouri Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Blue Shield Program.And according to the Southeast Missourian the Blue Shield Program was established through an executive order from Gov. Mike Kehoe to enhance public safety “by promoting coordinated law enforcement efforts, intelligence sharing, and community-based initiatives”.
