Sikeston voters will be asked in the April 8th election to renew a half-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax. This is not a new tax but a renewal of an existing tax. The wording on the ballot will be: Shall the City of Sikeston continue a sales tax of one-half cent for the purpose of funding capital improvements that will expire April 1, 2036? This is a renewal of an existing tax, not a new tax.
