Richard Bann was sentenced to five years for stealing from a Cape Girardeau bank. Bann was in court where he withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing or attempt to steal – from financial institution.He was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.In August 2024, Cape Girardeau police responded to an alarm at Southern Bank and found Bann sitting on his walker outside. Bann reportedly handed over an envelope containing $20 and said he robbed the bank so he could get medical treatment.
