MO Veteran Suicide Help

Annually, Missouri loses nearly 200 veterans to suicide, according to data from the U.S. Veterans Department. Missouri’s veteran suicide rate is one of the highest in the whole country. Seven out of every 100 veterans experience post-traumatic stress disorder, and thousands of veterans die by suicide every year. But the state is investing in resources to help veterans.Lindsey Ward is Missouri’s first Veterans Suicide Prevention Manager, a new position created after Gov. Mike Parson signed two bills making the Veterans Commission create a new program in an effort to prevent veteran suicide.
