State Rep. Jeff Myers, a Warrenton Republican, pre-filed both a bill and a joint resolution in the Missouri House of Representatives to move the state’s top law enforcement agency out from under the jurisdiction of the Missouri Department of Public Safety, creating a new state department.Myers said the restructuring would not require any additional cost and would merely be an administrative change to eliminate what he sees as redundant, bureaucratic oversight.
