A group wants the state to update a tax credit for some of Missouri’s most vulnerable citizens. Alisa Nelson reports.

The Missouri Budget Project wants the legislature to make changes to the state’s Property Tax Credit Program during the 2025 session. The program helps senior citizens and Missourians with disabilities stay in their homes. The group says despite rising costs and taxes, income eligibility and the amount of the credit have not been updated since 2008. As a result, fewer Missourians who need the tax credit can qualify.
