On Friday afternoon Cape Girardeau Police officers responded to the 700 – Block of Bellevue for a pedestrian accident. A 2002 Ford Escape driven by 30 year old everrett Garrettr killed 85 year old Margarita Fernandez of Cape Girardeau.Fernandez was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The Cape Girardeau Police Department crash reconstruction team continues to investigate.
