A woman 27-year-old Topanga S. Thompson was killed early Tuesday morning after a car hit her in east Poplar Bluff. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened in the early morning hours. MSHP said a car that was traveling westbound on Highway B ran off the left side of the roadway and was fatally struck, before hitting a tree. The driver had to be taken to a local hospital and he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
