Cape Girardeau Fire Department says you may still see some expected smoldering as crews responded to a report of a building fire at 4715 Nash Road at North American Tie & Timber; a manufacturer of railroad ties Friday. The first arriving units on scene reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the roof and the alarm was immediately upgraded to a working fire. No one was hurt, but damage is estimated at 575,000 dollars.
