A Scott City man, Jason Vermillion is dead after police say he tried to burglarize a home and the homeowner shot him. A press release says the homeowner called 911 and reported someone had kicked in his back door and that he had shot the man.When police arrived, the homeowner took them to the man, who was still alive. He died a short time later at a local hospital.Police chief Christopher Griggs said the homeowner is not facing charge since he was acting in self defense.
