When Cape Girardeau police officers responded to Southern Bank located at 380 N. Kingshighway for an alarm they found 72 year old Richard Bann of Springfield, MO sitting on a walker outside the bank admitting he robbed the bank of 20-dollars and told officers he wanted to go to prison to get medical attention. According to the police report no weapons were shown. Bann was charged and is being held in the Cape Girardeau jail on a 50-thousand dollar cash only bond.
